DETAILS

AVP will host its third-annual "friendraiser" garden party, Springtime on Delancey Place, for current friends of AVP and new friends interested in finding out how to help the agency. At the party, AVP will introduce a poster campaign that will list the names of the city's murder victims on bus shelters all over town.

With the surge in violence in Philadelphia, AVP's resources are stretched to the limit. Whether our staff is accompanying the co-victims of homicide to confusing court hearings or teaching elementary school students the importance of resolving problems without fighting, the costs to AVP are much higher than the limited state and federal funding received. Contributions from corporations and individuals (friends) enable AVP to deepen and expand its services throughout Philadelphia.

The Anti-Violence Partnership of Philadelphia is a non-profit agency that addresses the cycle of violence by providing advocacy, grief counseling and support for the families of murder victims, and offering violence prevention training for children and adults, effecting change in public and private institutions and society at large.
